I'm getting the following error when using 'Copy to GAC

iisreset /noforce         fixes the problem, but was hoping I didnt need to do that

I am getting this same issue, not just on Copy to GAC, but also if I try to recylce the app pools from the WSPBuilder context menu I also get the problem

Performing a iisreset /noforce and trying again does not fix the problem for me.

I'm going to try a reboot now.

Got the same problem (across several wsp builder projects). I don´t have a clue of why this occurs.

Any pointers to where to start looking at this problem?

I never did find a solution to this.

Has anyone else?

See this Issue for this:

The problem occurs when you have a ApplicationPool that is stopped.  In my case it was the DefaultAppPool and Default Website that I had stopped, rather than deleted.  Removing these items resolves the issue.

Hope this helps,
