WSPBuilder Extensions 2010 BETA 1.4 does not create manifest.xml

May 10, 2010 at 9:40 PM

I have created WSPBuilder Project. After that added new Item WSPBuilder->Blank Feature with Event handler. But project does not contain Manifest.xml.

Env: MOSS 2007 Ent/VS2010/WSPBuilder Extensions 2010 BETA 1.4

Can this version create Manifest.xml automatically?

I found a solution myself.  The target framework in the project should be 3.5. For some reason by default the target framework is undefined.  Is it a bug?

I have had trouble with this, as well.  As far as I can see it does create the manifest.xml file, but wraps it up in the .wsp file.  I would like to be able to edit it, but if you have to extract it from the .wsp file to do so and then rebuild the .wsp file, some of the utility is lost.

I am a relative newcomer to Sharepoint. WSPBuilder has helped me find my way, for which I am grateful.  But I am sufficiently concerned about its future that I took the time to learn my way around stsadm and .wsp files.
